Cashmere, which is peculiarly light, gentle, smooth, thermal, permeating, is the top grade product in the family of natural fibers in the world. Therefore it has beautiful names as "diamond fiber" and "soft gold" and because of its scarcity it is rather rare. In the middle ages, the royals of Europe looked upon cashmere and silk as top grade fabrics. Now, it is being rapidly appreciated and accepted by people of the world.

Cashmere, which is also called "kaisimi" got its name from famous Kahmir goats. They live on the cold altiplano, and desert areas, and most of them live in Posian and Mongolian areas of Asia. The wool of the goats are made up of the exterior coarse wool and the small portion of interior fine wool which clings to the skin, which make them survive the so cold areas where the temperatures of the night and day varies so great. Besides its peculiar physical characteristics, because of the genes and the circumstances, the output is rather low. In reality, one ordinary cashmere sweater will cost what three even four coats produce in one year and this is why the price of cashmere products remain high in the world.

The color of the cashmere which is procuced in Persian areas, which include Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey is deep and feels rather rough. China is the biggest cashmere production country in the world, producing more than 60% of the cashmere all over the world. Among the products, those that are produced in Mongolia are the best whether in terms of the length, fineness, degree of crimp, pliability, or in terms of glossiness and etc.
